Archeology and Art History
Students will discover what an archeologist does and how this kind of work is important in learning about art. They will explore an interactive website to learn about some cultural artifacts and what makes them valuable enough to preserve in museums. Then they will visit a local museum to see some local cultural artifacts. Next students will observe an archeology dig in a video and then determine and review an accurate process for doing their own archeology digs. Finally, students will discover small artifacts in the their own archeology dig. When they finish, they may eat the dirt and the artifacts (if they want to).
